Let it snow, let it snow, let’s go!

December 12, 2022

Another winter is here, and while the snowbirds are migrating to warmer climates, snowboarders (and skiers, and snow-lovers) are flocking to chillier climates in search of perfect powder, frozen beauty and winter fun. Here are a few of our favorite RV-friendly winter-time retreats.

Mount Rainier National Park | Ashford, WA

Skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling – even snow forts and snowball fights – Mount Rainier National Park is loaded with wintertime fun. Best of all, there are a number of RV destinations just a snowball’s throw away, including Majestic RV Park, Washington Land Yacht Harbor and Gig Harbor RV Resort

Snowy Peaks RV Park | Buena Vista, CO

Snowy Peaks is close to Colorado’s best skiing action, but that’s not all. This luxury RV park offers x-country skiing, and snowshoe trails on premises. You can also rent a snowmobile and ride a groomed trail over the Continental Divide. Luxury and Premium RV sites offer full hookup, including free cable TV, free WIFI, electric service – as well as fire rings and gas grills for heartier souls.

Boyne Mountain Resort | Boyne Falls, MI

Boyne Falls is an epicenter of wintertime fun and adventure. Of course, it is the home of the spectacular Boyne Mountain Resort, with winter sports and the world’s longest timber-towered suspension bridge. For indoor fun, dive in to Avalanche Bay, Michigan’s largest indoor water park. The nearby East Jordan Tourist Park & Beach offers 75 spaces with full water, electricity and sewer hookups.

White Mountain National Forest | Campton, NH

One of winter‘s best kept secrets, White Mountain National Forest gives winter funseekers a long list of activities including alpine and cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, sledding and tubing – all while surrounded by the majestic beauty of a deep forest, shrouded in white. Nearby Apple Hill Campground has full-hookup sites for $35/night.
