Home is where the heat is

November 23, 2022

One of the biggest advantages to RV ownership is that you can go where Winter isn’t. Whether you’re a seasoned snowbird looking to break out of a rut, or a first-timer just leaving the nest, here’s a few ideas of where all the cool snowbirds are flocking:

Clearwater, Florida

This seaside city sits between Tampa and St. Petersburg, so there are plenty of ways to spend your time, including fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, shopping, dining  and more – plus Busch Gardens is a short drive away. Clearwater Travel Resort offers 100 reasonably-priced full-hookup sites, along with a heated pool!

Twentynine Palms, California

Standing at the gateway to Joshua Tree National Park, Twentynine Palms is a small desert community that is known for its many recreational activities, including horseback riding and golf. It’s also close to the exclusive shopping, dining and entertainment in Palm Springs. The Twentynine Palms RV Resort boasts 168 full-hookup sites, along with a sauna, fitness room and a pool. While it may be the off season, there is always something going on at the resort, including ice cream socials and live music.

Tucson, Arizona

From breathtaking mountains to giant cacti in Saguaro National Park, Tucson is loaded with natural wonders to keep the most active family busy throughout the long winter months. Throw in a chance to sample some of the best tacos in the U.S., and you have a virtual paradise on earth. Far Horizons RV community offers 55+ sites, along with a mini golf course, pool and sauna. You can also land at the nearby Prince of Tuscon RV park and its 176 sites, with up to 50 amps of service on every site.

Aiken, South Carolina

Saddle up, because this is horse country. Aiken is the home of many horse tour companies and trail ride adventures. Vintage markets, dining, breweries and festivals will keep the action going between rides. Pine Acres is the closest RV park to Aiken and offers 40 full-hookup sites. While there are several more parks nearby, it would be smart to book your site several months or a year ahead of time.

Return to a tried-and-true favorite. Explore new sights, sounds and experiences. No matter where you choose to go, there are plenty of ways to stay warm this winter.
