Romantic Road Trip Ideas for Valentine’s Day

February 8, 2022

Need some Valentine’s Day ideas for your special someone? At REV, our answer is always, “Take a road trip!” And we found a few possible travel ideas to make this year’s holiday extra special.

  1. The most scenic drive in Florida
A mid-winter trip to a beach-filled, warm-weather destination probably doesn’t require much convincing. But there’s a specific stretch of road in Florida that might be one of the most scenic 113 miles you’ll ever drive. The Overseas Highway is a breathtaking way to travel from Miami to Key West. Suspended over the Atlantic Ocean, Florida Bay, and the Gulf of Mexico almost the entire time, you’ll bounce through the Florida Keys, passing bridges, parks, coral reef, and some of the most stunning jewel-colored waters along the way.
  2. Another scenic drive, but in California
If you’re more interested in a romantic West Coast getaway, the Pacific Coast Highway from Monterey to Morro Bay will give you a road trip to remember. Every inch of that 123-mile stretch provides picture-perfect scenery, running the gamut from mountains and wild surf to heavily forested hills. There are plenty of places to stop along the way for a romantic meal or a moment alone. And if you hit up Point Lobos State Natural Reserve you may even catch a glimpse of the gray whale migration!
  3. A classic romantic mountain town
Every moment is picture-worthy in Telluride, Colorado. The snow-capped mountain surroundings make it unlike most other romantic destinations. Hit the slopes for an active afternoon, then wander the streets and explore Tellurides many shops and restaurants. And depending on the weather, you can either make it a camping trip, or take advantage of the many cozy hotel and Airbnb options available.
