The American Coach Spring Travel Checklist

March 12, 2021

Before you head out for some warm-weather travel, make sure your luxury coach is ready for the road ahead.

Use the checklist below to make sure your American Coach is in top form, and don’t forget— you can find the nearest REV RV Service and Repair Center here.

  • The most important parts
First thing’s first: check all of the critical components that make your American Coach run: belts, hoses, battery and engine fluid levels, plus your engine, transmission and generator.
  • Tires
Make sure your tires are in good shape, and replace, rotate, or adjust the pressure accordingly.
  • Lights
Check and double-check all exterior lighting: headlamps, tail lights, brake lights and clearance lights.
  • Alarms, detectors, and extinguishers
Make sure your smoke & carbon monoxide detectors are working and that your fire extinguisher doesn’t need to be replaced.
  • Air conditioner
If your spring travel takes you west or south, it might start to feel more like summer. Make sure your AC can keep your coach cool and comfortable on the inside. Check for any damage to the cover and remember to replace your air filter annually.
  • Seals & Leaks
Want to stay dry during the thawing, rainy season? Before you depart, look around, above and under the motorhome for obstructions or leaks. Make sure your internal seals are in top shape as well.
  • Water supply
Check your filtration system and tanks to make sure the water you use for cooking, cleaning, and drinking is safe and clean. Now’s a great time to replace your water filter.

And remember: You don’t have to tackle this checklist alone. Find the REV RV Service and Repair Center nearest you and let our experts take care of it!
